INDIVIDUAL ABSTRACT AND SYMPOSIUM PROPOSAL SUBMISSION FORMS

DEADLINE: SATURDAY, MAY 24, 2008, 8 PM (20:00) U.S. Eastern Time (5 PM U.S. Pacific Time)

Please use this form to submit your Abstract and Symposium proposals. We look forward to sharing a stimulating SRA Annual Meeting with you. NOTE: Due to space and time constraints and the large volume of excellent proposals submitted each year, the Annual Meeting Committee regrets that we cannot offer an oral presentation slot to every submitter. Some submissions will be accepted as oral presentations, some will be accepted as posters or poster-platforms, and some will not be accepted. As in past years, these decisions will be announced several weeks after the submission deadline. The submission deadline is firm.

A submitted abstract is a commitment to present and the Annual Meeting Committee regards cancellations as incompatible with good professional conduct. If extenuating circumstances make it impossible for the presenting author to give the presentation, then that author must contact the session chair and the Annual Meeting Committee chair, and must help find an alternate presenter who is not otherwise presenting.

Each individual may submit only ONE abstract for oral presentation, although individuals can also serve as co-authors on abstracts submitted for oral presentation by others. The Committee does not limit the number of abstracts that individuals may submit for consideration as posters or poster-platforms (note however that poster platforms must be submitted as part of symposium).

Individuals interested in organizing symposia should complete the symposium proposal form first, and then communicate the symposium ID number, as soon as the organizer receives it, to the other presenters in the symposium.

If accepted for the final program, abstracts and symposia descriptions will be printed directly from your online submission form without any opportunity for you to make changes. The Annual Meeting Committee may perform minor editing (punctuation and grammar) on your submission; but you will not see a revised version before publication.

Select the appropriate option below.

1) Symposium Proposal

A Symposium addresses a particular theme that typically covers multiple disciplines, and it must involve diverse presenters from multiple organizational affiliations. Symposium organizers must submit a symposium proposal that: (1) describes the theme for the 1.5 hour session, (2) demonstrates its interdisciplinary character and diversity of speakers from more than one organization, and (3) lists the proposed individual oral presentations, poster-platform presenters, and/or discussants for inclusion. Each individual may propose a maximum of ONE symposium.

2) Individual Abstract

Select below whether you wish to submit a freestanding abstract or a symposium abstract. The form will ask for the format (oral or poster). NOTE: Each individual may submit a maximum of ONE abstract as PRESENTING AUTHOR for an ORAL PRESENTATION (either as part of a symposium or freestanding).

Symposium Abstract: To submit your abstract as part of the proposed symposium, you MUST enter the proposed symposium ID, then click on the button "Submit Abstract as Part of a Proposed Symposium." You should have received the symposium ID directly from the symposium organizer.
